I cannot recommend Kerry Tobin enough for PT care! I have seen her for both in person and online visits and always feel supported and very happy with the progress my body is making. I started seeing her at the beginning of my pregnancy not knowing what to expect, it has been monumental and alleviated each of my discomforts. We had started with working on my chronic shoulder pain but as new pregnancy discomforts have arose such as sacral pain, pubis symphasis pain, and even constipation, she has been able to address all of my needs! She is thoughtful, kind, thorough, and incredibly knowledgeable. I am so grateful for her support and healing touch (both online and in person!). If you’re looking for pelvic floor physical therapy I highly recommend seeing Kerry Tobin!
Kerry Tobin is a licensed physical therapist specializing in pelvic health and orthopedics. Kerry earned her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from the University at Buffalo in 2014 following undergraduate work in Exercise Science and working as a personal trainer. She then practiced in Tennessee for 3 years while working towards her manual therapy certification through the Institute of Advanced Musculoskeletal Treatments, which she achieved in 2017. Since then, Kerry has had the opportunity to work across the country in Colorado, Northern California and Southern California as well as volunteering in Haiti. She has been able to learn from therapists and mentors in each location and incorporate diverse knowledge and skills into her practice.
In addition to completing the pelvic floor series curriculum through Herman and Wallace, she has studied myofascial release for pelvic dysfunction and pregnancy as well as advanced coursework in pain science and spinal manipulation. She is very excited to bring her skills and expertise to her new home in Asheville.
I believe in treating the body as a whole. While there may be only one or two symptomatic areas, there can be many drivers of a patient’s symptoms. It is my passion to systematically assess and find these drivers in order to help the body function symptom-free. I provide individually tailored treatment consisting of manual (hands on) work supplemented with exercises to augment what we have achieved manually. As treatment progresses, patients are empowered through exercise and self- care techniques and require decreasing amounts of manual therapy. My goal is for my patients to independently maintain a symptom-free life utilizing tools and exercises that they feel comfortable with. I believe in forming a therapeutic alliance with each patient in order to help them reach their individual goals through a combination of therapeutic exercise, functional activities, neuromuscular re-education and manual therapy.
